Registration Form (to be posted)

A key component of your Astronomy lab is to learn about and gain an appreciation for observing the night sky and astronomical objects.  As such, attending either a Clear Skies or Public Observing night is a requirement for all ASTR:1070 students.  This grade may not be dropped.  In order to receive credit for your Clear Skies/Public Observing night, you must take notes the night of the observation and complete the worksheet provided to you, submitting it to your TA by the due date.

Please note you are expected to register for the event of your choosing at least 2 days in advance, though earlier is encouraged.  If you do not do this, you will not receive all pertinent information regarding the observation session, and there will not be a worksheet available for you. The registration form will be made available at the link above once all event dates are confirmed.  A day or so prior to your observation night, you will be sent an email confirming the details of your event. Alternatively, if the weather is poor, you may receive an email letting you know the event has been canceled. If a cancellation occurs, it is expected that you register for and plan to attend a second observation night. Furthermore, event registration may be capped. For these reasons, it is important to make certain that you register sufficiently far enough in advance so that if a date is full or canceled, you still have time in the semester to attend a second night.  If you register for and plan to attend a second event that is canceled, you will receive automatic full credit.
