• Calibrate Maxim to measure the apparent magnitude of stars in the image of M27. The procedure is described in detail below.
• Measure the apparent magnitude of several stars each of the groups you defined in the last section. How do the relative magnitudes compare to the peak pixel intensity for stars in each group? Does doubling the magnitude double the intensity, or is there some other relationship?
• Look up the apparent magnitude of one of the stars in the image and compare to that found by Maxim.
